Experience
r. Greg Watson has been a General Surgeon with Utah Surgical Associates since 2002 and specializes in Emergent Surgery and General Surgery. Dr. Watson performs most of the Pediatrics and Cutaneous Nerve Entrapment Syndrome (ACNES) and ALIF Exposures, in addition to general surgeries. Dr. Watson has served on multiple boards and committees at a local, state, and national level. Dr. Watson served as the Director of Trauma Services at St. George Regional Hospital for 16 years.
Dr. Watson and his team were responsible for building the Trauma System in Southern Utah at St. George Regional Hospital and setting up the Southern Utah Region Trauma Network to bring the facility to a Level II Trauma Center. Performing well over 900 surgeries annually, he is extremely well versed in procedures as well as care and treatment. Dr. Watson attended Des Moines University and graduated in 1998. He completed his residency at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa. He then became Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery in 2006 and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 2012. Dr. Watson retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 23 years; starting in the artillery branch and transferred to the medical core during his residency.
Dr. Watson is most proud of his woodworking projects. During his off-time Dr. Watson enjoys competitive shooting, fly-fishing, and spending quality time with his family.
